Nursing & midwifery strategy 2002/05
The Trust’s Nursing & Midwifery Strategy, “Shaping
the Future” was launched in December 2002. The strategy, developed
drawing on contributions from around 400 nurses and midwives aims to:
- Set corporate objectives
- Give nurses and midwives a stronger voice in the
Trust
- Support the sharing of good practice.
The strategy has five key themes and five working
groups have been established to take the work forward in these areas:
- The image of nursing
- Research and development
- Education, training and professional development
- Standards, audit and evaluation
- Recruitment and retention
