Black and minority ethnic network

The Trust's Black and Minority Ethnic Network aims to assist all staff to reach their full potential and contribute to the success of the Trust. Through networking opportunities, mentoring schemes and skills development workshops, the Network offers support to staff from across the Trust.

The BME network meets once a month to discuss a range of professional and development issues and often receives guest speakers from outside the organisation. The network also runs a range of practical workshops for staff to provide support and career development.

The BME network is just one way in which the Trust celebrates and supports the diversity of our staff and the communities we serve. Located in the heart of the capital, we serve some of the most diverse communities in the UK where more than 130 languages are spoken. We recognise that we can only serve these communities properly if our workforce reflects the mix of patients who we treat on a daily basis. A more diverse workforce means better patient care.

The Trust has a number of different initiatives as part of a comprehensive equality and diversity programme to address issues of race, age, gender, sexual orientation and disability.
