Balancing Work and Home

The Trust has a range of policies in place which aim to support staff in balancing the commitments of work and home life. These include:

  • Parental leave policies
  • Career breaks policy
  • Job share guidelines
  • Flexible working guidelines

Why have these policies?
The Trust recognises that its staff have a home life. It can be difficult to try to balance home and work, whatever your outside commitments. The Trust can assist by offering guidance about working practices which help staff to achieve that balance. These policies offer an extension of existing schemes and informal procedures which already exist.

The Trust is committed to equal opportunities and this includes opportunities for people with family and other commitments. The Trust aims to be a “family friendly employer”.

What else does the Trust do to help staff balance work and home?

  • The Trust helps with childcare by running a nursery on each site, but places are limited.
  • Play schemes during holidays.
  • The Staff Counsellors can help deal with stress.
  • The Trust has generous maternity leave and pay provisions.
